Georgia Women’s Action for New Directions Education Fund (Georgia WAND) is a grassroots, non-profit organization that addresses the intersection of environmental justice, nuclear harm reduction, and building people power in frontline communities. We work to advance a Just Transition–including the political, economic, cultural, and environmental landscapes–in Georgia and beyond. We uplift and unite people of color, women, youth, workers, LGBTQI, low-income communities, and others affected by radiological industries, the negative affects of U.S. militarism and state violence, white supremacy, and the inequitable distribution of our public resources. We support and engage in the building of power in marginalized communities so people can determine and develop for themselves the health, safety, longevity, and wellness of their communities.
